Virtual walk and run to support private education

Friends and alumni of the St. Thomas School in Sanford and the St. James School in Biddeford will be holding their inaugural 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Fun Run next month. Residents of Denmark may be interested in supporting this event.

It is often found that poster printing is an effective way to spread the word about such an event throughout a region.

This event will be virtual, meaning participants can run, walk, or bike from any part of the country or world for 3.1 miles, and do it at anytime during the weeklong event. The principal of the St. James School, Nancy Naimey, said that such a virtual event is the best way currently to get the community out to support the school. Naimey added that all proceeds of the event will go towards ensuring an education at the school stays affordable for everyone.

The cost to participate in the event is $25 and this includes a bib number and a race T-shirt. Race times will be tracked and recorded so that the top runners will be recognized sometime later in the month.

Among the sponsors of the event are Casco Bay Ford, Richard’s Garage, Saco and Biddeford Savings Institute, and Locke and Sons Plumbing and Heating.

The Run and Walk will be held from Sunday, November 7 through Saturday, November 14.
