The Pihcintu Multi-National Girl’s Chorus will be performing at the Denmark Arts Center next month.
This is a chorus of immigrant children from around the world, and is designed to help restart their lives in this country. Such unique performances are often promoted throughout a town and a region with poster printing.
The Chorus was created in 2006 by Con Fullam, an award-winning musician, producer, and songwriter, who combined a love of music with a personal concern for the issues of children around the world. This is a chorus of young women from Saudi Arabia, El Salvador, Cambodia, the British West Indies, and Egypt, among many other parts of the world. They have formed a permanent and powerful bond through music that has enabled them to hope, laugh, and trust again. Consequently, all who have taken part in the chorus have graduated from high school and 85% have completed post-secondary education.
The Chorus has performed in hundreds of millions of internet and other broadcast media, such as Voice of America, National Public Radio, and Univision, as well as 300,000 live performances. Other performances have been at The National Cathedral and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, both in Washington, D.C. and the United Nations in New York City.
The Chorus will be performing this Saturday, May 3 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
