Unique musical performances to be featured in Denmark

The Denmark Arts Center will soon be hosting a weekend of music.

Such special performances are often promoted throughout a region with flyer printing.

The first concert will be by Mad Agnes, a trio that uses well-crafted instrumentation – including piano, an inventive keyboard, guitar, and ukelele – in three-part harmonies to enthrall audiences. This concert will be on Friday, August 4 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

Later in the weekend there will be a Chamber Series with Judy Saiki and Krysia Tripp. This will be an afternoon of music for the harp and flute. Works by Bizet, C. P. E. Bach, Vaughan Williams, Persichetti, and LaMontaine will be featured.

Saiki is a professional harpist and plays regularly with the Boston Pops and the Boston Symphony Orchestras. She has played under the musical directions of Seiji Ozawa, James Levine, and Andris Nelsons at Carnegie Hall, Tanglewood, and in Boston. She has traveled internationally and performed with the Boston Pops with names like John Williams and Keith Lockhart.

Tripp currently performs with the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the Portland Symphony, the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, the Hartford Symphony, and Opera Maine. She has also performed in Europe and has collaborated with such artists as the Burbeck Brothers; Peter, Paul, and Mary; and Luciano Pavarotti.

The Chamber Series will be on Sunday, August 6 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.
