The Denmark Arts Center will be holding two special events next month, with one focused on music and the second on art and illustration.
Poster printing is often used to promote such events throughout a town and surrounding communities.
The first is a performance that is part of the Chamber Series. It will be Songs from Here with Sarah Tuttle, which was an initiative founded in 2021 and was part of a goal to engage with the community of Maine through the creation and performance of art songs. An art song is vocal music typically written for a single voice to be accompanied by a piano and is often a musical setting of a poem.
The initiative was designed to increase the visibility of music made in Maine with hands-on educational programs and high-quality performances. This performance will be on Sunday, September 15 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The second will be an Art Opening with Grace Marshall. Marshall was born and raised in Denmark and attended Fryeburg Academy. Her senior capstone project was writing, illustrating, and publishing a children’s book. Her work focuses on the beauty of nature and the quiet moments of everyday life, with an emphasis on instances of wonder and stillness. This will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 29.
