Trio of authors to speak in Denmark

The Denmark Arts Center will be holding its Author Series for 2022 in collaboration with the Arts Center Collaborative, the Public Library, and the Denmark Historical Society.

Such special series are often promoted throughout an area with banner printing.

First in the series will be an afternoon with Robin Wood, author of “The Filed House.” This book is a hybrid biography and memoir that recounts the life of Rachel Field, a well-known playwright, poet, and author from the 1920s to the 1940s, which uncovers the mysteries of Fields’ life over a period of 10 years. This event will take place on Sunday, July 17.

The next event will feature Gigi George and her book “Downeast: Five Maine Girls and the Unseen Story of Rural America.” This book explores the lives of five girls who live in rural Maine over a period of four years, uncovering their awakenings, longings, and dreams, and reveals the complex world in which they lived. This event will be on Sunday, July 31.

The last talk in the series will feature Morgan Tally and his book “Night of the Living Rez.” Tally grew up in, and is a citizen of, the Penobscot Indian Nation. The book is a collection of stories and is a forthcoming Tin House Book. This event will be on Sunday, September 18.

All events will begin at 3:00 pm and are made possible by support from attendees and an anonymous donor.
