Two part-time summer internships of $3,000 are being offered by the Lovell Historical Society. Students from nearby Denmark might be interested in such opportunities.
The internships will last for eight weeks. Those selected are required to complete the entire program of eight weeks.
Eligible applicants need to be registered at a university or college with at least one full semester remaining after the internship, or can be a college student or recent graduate of high school who plans to enroll in college this fall. Additional capabilities include strong organizational skills, computer skills, and an ability to work independently, as well as a deep interest in working with the community and in local history.
Among the activities of the internship will be helping with general tasks around the Society and the office, interacting with the public, conducting research, learning the software program used by the Society, guiding tours of the Society and its museum, and assisting with event planning.
Flyer printing is often used to promote such unique opportunities throughout a town and its surrounding communities.
The internships are expected to start on Thursday, June 11 but there is flexibility with the start date. Both summer and year-round residents are encouraged to apply. Applications are due by the middle of April. They will then be reviewed and the selection of the interns will be made within two weeks of the deadline.
