Special activities hosted by Fryeburg public library

The Fryeburg Public Library will be holding virtual events next month, which might interest residents of Denmark.

Print shops can be hired to create Flyers and other promotional materials to encourage participation in such events by the community.

The first will be presented by Marine Mammals of Maine (MMoME). This non-profit organization, which is dedicated to the education, research, rescue, and response of marine mammals and sea turtles, will discuss the journey of a seal from stranding to release and all the obstacles faced in-between.

The discussion will start with the basics of seals and delve into the reasons why these sea mammals need the support of the public. MMoME will also show videos and photographs of its work with seals and cover the work of the organization, the animals for which they provide care, and how the public can help. This talk will be on Tuesday July 7 at 5:00 pm.

A virtual book discussion will take place the following day at 10:00 am. This discussion will focus on an audiobook, movie, or themed book on any Hero’s journey.

A Medicare Counselor from Seniors Plus, Valerie Cole, will be available the first Wednesday of every month to talk about concerns people may have about Medicare. This will take place in the library the first Wednesday of every month beginning in July. Appointments are required.
