Music and poetry to come to arts center in Denmark

Two special events will be taking place at the Denmark Arts Center over Labor Day weekend.

Local Print shops often assist in promoting such events with Flyers, Posters, and other printed materials.

The first will be the Bruce Marshall Group-Labor Day Weekend Show. This group has been entertaining audiences since 1992 with a combination of rhythm and blues, swampy blues, and Americana. The group is known for its passionate performances among its loyal following. The four-piece group has recently signed with Vrdict Music. This concert will be on Saturday, September 2 at 7:00 pm. Ticket prices are $15 for general admission.

Several poets will also be holding a reading from their Books as part of the Center’s Authors Series. Meghan Sterling, Katherine Hagopian Berry, and Gibson Fay-LeBlanc will be reading poems from each of their recent collections.

The recent book by Fay-LeBlanc explores brotherhood, fatherhood, and masculinity from many standpoints, including the natural world, contemporary culture, and ice hockey. The work of Hagopian Berry has been featured in several local and national publications and she has been a showcase performer and finalist at the Belfast Poetry Festival. Sterling has several published poetry collections with her third full-length collection coming out this summer.

This event will be on Sunday, September 3 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. Donations of up to $20 for a general admission ticket are requested.
