Maine and New Hampshire to feature summer farmers markets

Several farmers markets are open in Maine and in towns in New Hampshire bordering the state, to which residents from Denmark may want to go to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at this time when basic necessities are in short supply.

The Summer Market in Bridgton will be opened every Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine. The market will run from the first Saturday in May through October. Weston’s Farm on River Street in Fryeburg and on West Side Road in Conway offering fresh produce and farm items will be opened every day of the week from late June through Columbus Day. In Lovell, there is also the Farmers’ Market at the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library which will be outdoors and opened every Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm beginning in June and lasting through September.

Sherman Farms in East Conway is also opened from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and offers ice cream, prepared meals to go, meats, and fresh vegetables. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and Thrift Shop in the village of Tamworth will be hosting the Tamworth Farmers Market beginning Saturday, May 16 and every Saturday through the end of October from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Musicians from the area will provide music for shopping and entertainment.
