Live radio show premiere set for May

The Cold River Radio Show will be premiering in May at the Majestic Theatre on Main Street in Conway. Residents of nearby Denmark may be interested in going to this performance.

This will be a live variety show with award winning performances, comedians, artists, storytellers, and best-selling authors based in New England. Poster printing is often used to promote such opening shows of a season throughout a region.

Headlining the show will be John Gorka, a singer songwriter, whose music with fresh lyrics and twisted humor offers a capturing experience.

Selections from their newest album will be performed by Rocking Horse Music Club (RHMC). This album is an interpretation of the unfinished novella, “The Haunted Life,” by Jack Kerouac. RHMC brings the coming-of-age story by Kerouac to music and often uses the words of the author as lyrics. Following the musical performance by the group, Brian Coombes, producer, will talk with the Literary Executor of the Jack Kerouac Estate, Jim Sampas, about this unpublished work, and its inspiration for this project.

Additional performances will be transformational stories by Thom Dharma Pollard, an adventurer, filmmaker, expeditionist, and author from the National Geographic; Gary Ploude to support his forthcoming album; and historian Dr. Peter Crane on the Mount Washington Moment.

This premiere will be on Sunday May 18 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
