Mary Bastoni will be the featured artist of the Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association at the Met Coffee House and Art Gallery in Settlers Green in North Conway for the month of September.
A resident of Fryeburg, art lovers from nearby Denmark may want to see Bastoni's work and support their local talent.
Bastoni has been an actress, vocalist, director, musician, and teacher for most of her life. She found a new passion when she took up painting four years ago. She said that her life has been enriched by painting as it has enabled her to see things from a new perspective. She not only looks at her subjects but endeavors to get behind their stories and their emotions.
The media with which Bastoni works include soft pastels, watercolor, and oils. To improve her skills as an artist, she has taken several workshops as she feels there is much to be learned from great instructors. Bastoni is motivated every day to paint. She said she has both good days and bad days, but always wants to grow and learn as a painter.
The mission of the Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association is to create a community focused on the appreciation, study, and display of the visual arts, featuring the art of the Mt. Washington Valley. Such establishments often turn to printing services to promote new exhibitions and local artists.
