Denmark area resort offers relief for skiers

Erik Mogensen, general manager of Black Mountain in Jackson, New Hampshire, is enticing skiers and riders to its slopes by offering to pay for their parking tickets. Residents of nearby Denmark looking to downhill ski this winter might be interested in this offer.

Mogensen said that during these busy winter months, people skiing at the mountain may find themselves with a parking ticket. He is asking motorists who fall afoul of this to send him a photograph of it and he will reimburse people for the expense, as he does not want anyone to be penalized for riding or skiing at Black Mountain.

Flyer printing can be used to inform such visitors to the mountain of this special and unique offer.

Black Mountain was opened by the Fichera family in 1995 but announced in 2024 that due to increasing costs and shortages of staff that it would close. However, it is a member of Indy Pass, and this group took over the ski resort for the 2024-2025 season. Last October, Mogensen announced that for this year’s season, Black Mountain would be owned by the community.

Mogensen added that the support and enthusiasm of the community has been vital to this cooperative process, and now Black Mountain will have a bright future.

Black Mountain has five lifts, 45 trails, and a vertical drop of 1,100 feet.
