For those in Glen Burnie and environs looking for a way to give back as part of pre-Thanksgiving celebrations, it might be worth attending the Quarter Queen Auction as part of the Toys for Troops Kids – Maryland Chapter effort.
The idea is to raise money to buy seasonal toys for kids of parents who are currently serving in the military but are not able to make it home for the holidays, or who cannot afford presents for their children.
The auction will be given in conjunction with VFW Post #160. Those who attend are asked to bring a toy to donate, although though the group will take cash donations as well. Items in the auction will be provided courtesy of local business owners and will include such goods as Ravens and Orioles Jerseys, Lottery scratch-offs, intimate Apparel from Victoria’s Secret, stuffed owls, and gift cards. Those organizing or planning to attend may wish to have flyer printing carried out to help advertise the event and encourage more people to attend.
The auction will be held Thursday, November 13, at the VFW post, 2597 Dorsey Road, Glen Burnie. Doors will open at 6:00 pm with the auction beginning at 7:00 pm. Admission will be $5 per person, which includes paddles, and parking will be free. Organizers request that toys to be donated are not wrapped.Get a Free Quote for Apparel
