Gaithersburg running group celebrates milestone year

Run Farther and Faster in Gaithersburg is celebrating a decade of helping hundreds of people improve their running ability.

Runner's World assistant writer Cindy Kuzma will join in the anniversary. Kuzma also helped write Rebound: Train Your Mind to Bounce Back Stronger from Sports Injuries.

The book is helpful for people who have past and present injuries. It also discusses how to avoid injuries and introduces techniques and practices to conquer challenges. It is the absolute manual about the impact of injury to mental health. It details ways for athletes to reduce the likelihood of injury and improve their ability in sports.

Breakfast starts at 8:15 am followed by a book signing and discussion. There will be a panel on recovering from injury, called ‘The Comeback is Sweeter than the Setback’. Kuzma will be a part of the panel along with ProAction Physical Therapy founder Rachel Miller PT, OCS; and Sports Psychologist Jennifer Lager, Psy.D.

At 10:00 am, there will be a discussion on the history and future of running as a hobby with Run Farther and Faster representatives Julie Sapper and Lisa Reichmann. There are only 50 spots available, and the 50 registrants will also receive a gift bag containing Promotional Products.

The anniversary celebration is on February 2 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am in lululemon at 138 Crown Park Avenue.
