Bethesda presents show just for kids
A play designed specifically for young children is coming to Bethesda.
‘Mouse on the Move’ was written by Kathryn Chase Bryer and Janet Stanford, and Bryer is directing this remounting of the production. The heroines of the play are mouse sisters Amelia and Nellie, who are excited about exploring beyond the confines of their mouse hole. They set out for the moon, which is not only a cat-free zone, but is also allegedly made of cheese. On the way to their destination, the little mice have adventures exploring the galaxy, sailing unfamiliar waters, and discovering a lovely garden.
Much of the language in the play is simple, often playful, which makes it perfect for young children, and particularly for those on the autism spectrum, and those who are seeing their first theatrical production. The show is interactive, which means audience members may be asked to take part in simple actions.
‘Mouse on the Move’ will be performed beginning at 10:00 am on January 11, at the Imagination State on Auburn Avenue. The performance lasts approximately 45 minutes, and is aimed at youngsters from one to five years of age. The show will run from January 11, through February 16, every Saturday and Sunday. Times of the performances are available on the theater website. The February 16 show, which is scheduled for 11:15 am, will ASL-interpreted. Brochure printing is often used to develop pamphlets about organizations like this, listing their events.
