A colorful and exciting event is coming to Bethesda to celebrate the snowy season.
Bethesda’s Winter Wonderland & Holiday Market will take place on Cordell and Norfolk Avenues in the city’s downtown. The event includes games, face painting, live music, a live demonstration of ice sculpting, and a visit from Santa Claus. Everyone is asked to bring a new, unused toy for the Toys for Tots annual drive.
The ice sculpting demonstration takes place from 12.30 pm until 2.00 pm, on Norfolk Avenue in the city’s Woodmont Triangle. The sculptor will use ice picks, chainsaws, and other tools to create their glittering works of art.
After the ice sculpting, students from local arts organizations and schools will perform songs inspired by the holidays, or by the season of winter. Participants are the Strathmore Youth Chorus, Stone Ridge School, Our Lady of Lourdes, Georgetown Prep, Chevy Chase Elementary School, Bethesda Elementary School, Bethesda-Chase High School, and the Academy of the Holy Cross.
The event also includes the URBNmarket Holiday Market, where 40 to 50 artisans will have unique items for sale including jewelry, soaps, art prints, vintage clothing, ornaments, and more.
Other activities include Mathnasium, the Imagination Stage, Bach to Rock, and Round House Theatre. In addition, Bethesda restaurants Smoke BBQ, The Red Bandana, and Olazzo will be present.
The festivities take place on Saturday, December 6, from 12.00 pm and 4.00 pm. Events like this are perfect opportunities for artists to distribute Business Cards.
