Worcester to host special seasonal event
The annual Festival of Lights will be returning to the city of Worcester this year.
Poster printing is a popular way to make the community and others in the region aware of such unique holiday events.
This is a family-friendly event that will feature ice skating, many lighting features, community organizations, vendors selling food, and performances. The lighting of the tree will be the highlight of the evening.
Following the tree lighting at 6:00pm, Michelle Brooks-Thompson, an award-winning singer, will put on a performance.
Other seasonal activities will include a colorful and dramatic tree uplighting that will add color to the Commons; an “Illuminaciones” installment designed by Zebbler Studios, which is an interactive light sculpture; interactive snow people on the Common; and a glow playscape for both children and adults alike on the Common.
There will also be a beer tent, 15 food vendors, a visit from Santa Claus, interactive roving circus performers, carriage rides, fire performers, and face painting.
Rice Square, Roosevelt Elementary School, and the Burncoat High School Quadrivium Chorus will also be performing throughout the evening.
The Worcester Public Library will have small family crafts, a hot cocoa station, and a pop-up sale by the Friends of the Library. The library will be open until 8:00pm.
The Festival of Lights will be taking place on Friday December 1 from 4:30 to 8:30pm.
