Worcester becomes home to housing development
A new major housing development, Grafton Woods Luxury Living, will be coming to Worcester.
It will be on 17.7 acres of land off Grafton Street and will feature 491 residential units. It is being developed by Brandt Lane Development, a firm based in Holden that purchased the site in 2023 for $4.3 million.
The Conservation Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Worcester Planning Board have approved the project.
As part of the construction process the site will undergo significant remediation. This will include the reconstruction of Brandt Lane and the cleaning up of waste materials. The project itself will have five residential buildings, each four stories tall; common green space with pickleball courts, lawn areas, and a bicycle corral; and a parking deck. There will be 793 parking spaces for the development which will span 688,544 square feet. Of this, there will be 3,500 square feet of commercial space.
Such projects frequently use banner printing to notify residents about significant developments and their advantages for the community.
The project will transform the site which is currently underutilized into a new residential hub. It will also add to the list of significant residential developments that are changing the housing landscape in Worcester, thereby acknowledging confidence in the continued growth of the city.
No timeline for the construction of the project has been released.
