Worcester restaurants plan block party
Several local businesses have come together to create “Summer at '72”, a block party that will take place at 72 Shrewsbury Street. The organizers hope this will be the start of a tradition, and that the “Summer at '72” will become an annual event.
The party will last an entire day, while attendees enjoy art, games, music, great food, and some of Worcester's favorite beers. The location is the 72 Shrewsbury Street hub, a venue that houses several of the businesses that are taking part and has a large parking lot.
The participants are Simjang, which plans to serve bibimbap, and fried chicken; Deadhorse Grill, which will offer tacos, and grilled Mexican street corn; and the pizzeria Volturno, with sausage sandwiches and porchetta sandwiches. People who want a pizza will be able to step inside the restaurant and order it to go.
Also planning to be there with goodies are the Raw Bar with oysters; and the rosé wine bar, which will have rosé wines from throughout the globe; and Wormtown Brewery, which will have three beers on tap from its keg van.
If all these treats weren't enough, there's both live music and a DJ, and a cornhole tournament is also scheduled, with a grand prize of $500.
