Chick-fil-A, a chain across the country that focuses on chicken sandwiches, now has a location in Leominster in the Twin City Plaza on Merriam Avenue. Those who live in Worcester near the Fitchburg-Leominster line might be interested in this new establishment.
The owner and operator of the restaurant is Mary Herndon Harrington. She has worked at several Chick-fil-A locations in the Greater Boston area as a restaurant director as well as a member of the leadership development program of the company and a filed trainer.
Chick-fil-A replaces what was once an Uno Pizzeria & Grill. That building has been demolished and has been replaced with a building spanning 5.200 square feet. The new eatery features an outdoor patio, indoor dining, and a drive-thru with two lanes.
Employees for both the back and the front of the restaurant are now being hired. There are four positions being advertised with a rate of pay of between $15 and $18 per hour. Such positions can be promoted throughout a city and neighboring communities with poster printing,
Through its Shared Table program, Chick-fil-A restaurants donate surplus food to local shelters, soup kitchens, and nonprofits. The initiative has helped provide more than 30 million meals across the United States and Canada, and with the opening of a new restaurant a donation of $25,000 is given by Chick-fil-A Inc. to support hunger-relief efforts.
