Swimming lessons for kids to be held in Worcester

Free swimming lessons for young people will be held by the YWCA of Central Massachusetts this summer.

The free swimming lessons, known as the SPLASH program, will take place twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Salem Square campus of the YMCA in downtown Worcester. The program is available to children between the ages of 7 and 12 years old, with priority given to children and their families who would not be able to have access to swimming lessons otherwise.

The program also includes an orientation for parents and guardians prior to the start of the program. The program is designed to teach valuable skills in the water in a supportive and fun environment. It also includes a swim membership for the summer to the YMCA.

Such programs and their benefits are often promoted throughout a community with banner printing. Additional printing services can be used to create brochures and other materials for children to take home and reinforce their learning from such programs.

Having more children knowing how to swim will help to address the lifeguard shortage the city is currently experiencing. The SPLASH program was found in 2016 by the YMCA to teach aquatic skills to children.

The SPLASH program will run from Monday, July 12 to Wednesday, July 28.
