Nominations requested for awards in Worcester
The annual Women of Consequence and Young Woman of Consequence awards are now accepting nominations.
A woman who works, lives, or is a volunteer in Worcester, who has shown exceptional compassion, dedication, and leadership driving change for the better, and who is an outstanding community engagement role model, is honored by the Women of Consequence award. A woman who is in her third or last year in high school, lives in the city, and demonstrates leadership that has shown tangible results for the city is eligible for the annual Young Woman of Consequence award. Both awards are presented by the City of Worcester Advisory Committee on the Status of Women.
The theme of the awards this year is Trailblazing through Mentorship. Local printing services can create flyers and other printed materials with more details about such awards and their requirements.
The winner of the Young Woman of Consequence Award will receive a scholarship of $10,000 to attend Assumption University. Other nominees of this award will also claim eligibility for a $4,000 scholarship for Assumption University if they decided to attend the university.
Nominations need to be submitted by Friday, January 19th, with Thursday, March 7th being the date of the awards’ presentation. Winners of both awards will be required to attend this ceremony and give an acceptance speech.
