New residential building to come to Worcester

Plans are in the works for a development project at the vacant Boys Club building at Lincoln Square in Worcester. There would be an 80-unit building at a cost of $52m.

The housing development will have 16 units in the Boys Club building and a new structure five stories high with 95 units that will be attached to the building. The units will be only for people 62 years and older and 80% of them will be affordable housing. A memorial for World War I at Lincoln Square will remain. The development will also have 21 parking spaces and another 59 spaces set aside for people living at a lot along Highland Street that is owned by the city.

Print shops can be hired to create Flyers and other printed materials to inform residents about such projects with more details about their features and amenities.

Winn Development is the developer for the project and purchased the Boys Club building for $300,000 in 2019. In the plans submitted to the city, Winn Development said that the goal is to achieve a delicate balance between the new addition and the existing historic architecture that will meet the approvals and standards of the Worcester Historic Commission, the Massachusetts Historic Commission, and the National Park Service, as well as their partners in the project, Preservation Worcester.
