New beer garden opens up in Worcester
Harpoon Brewery, the largest brewery in Massachusetts, has now opened a beer garden on the Mercantile Plaza in Worcester.
Such openings can be publicized and celebrated with the distribution of branded promotional products and other related printed materials.
Known as the Harpoon Worcester Beer Garden, it is operated by Reunion Tap and Table and will be a place to enjoy craft beer, cocktails, hard cider, and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as live music. Snacks and lighter fare are also served. The beer garden will be opened from Thursday through Sunday and will close in October during the colder months.
The Harpoon Beer Garden is a few blocks away from the seasonal beer garden in Worcester and close to the Worcester Public Market. Another large brewery in the state, Wachusett, based in Westminster, has a location in the market.
Dan Kenary, a co-founder of Harpoon, grew up in Worcester, so moving the brewery to Worcester represents something of a homecoming. About 75% of Harpoon’s beer is produced in Boston and by sales volume the company is the 15th largest brewery in the United States. Other breweries among the top 10 in the state include Wachusett, Jack’s Abby (based in Framingham), and Tree House (based in Charlton).
The Harpoon Worcester Beer Garden opened its doors last Thursday, May 26.
