Full steam ahead for Worcester coffee shops

The coffee business is growing in Worcester, with several stores in for a shake-up.

New owners of the Steam Café at the Ice Center in Worcester are planning to reopen the shop this month. Local Print shops often assist in spreading the word about such openings to the community using Flyers.

Chris Besaw, co-owner of the Steam Café, said that the shop, which serves primarily coffee, will keep many of the qualities of the previous shop but will have an expanded menu. Cliff Rucker will be the other owner of the Steam Café. He owns the restaurant Off The Rails, which has a Nashville theme, as well as the Worcester Palladium and the Worcester Railers.

The Steam Café originally opened in the Worcester Ice Center in 2017 with a second location on West Boylston Street in 2019. Both locations closed about a year ago.

Once the coffee shop opens it will be serving breakfast, lunch, healthy options, coffee, and smoothies daily from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Redemption Rock Brewing in Worcester has also announced that it will be offering new espresso drinks that will include shaken espresso in hot and iced versions, as well as the usual Americanos, cappuccinos, and lattes. These offerings will be in addition to the traditional drip coffees it currently serves.

In addition, Fuel America will be opening a new location on Grove Street in addition to its roastery and café at the Mercantile Center.
