The city of Worcester and the Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District are hosting Movies on the Common this month and next.
Poster printing is often used to promote such special events throughout a city and surrounding communities.
These are free events for the entire family where they can enjoy movies under the stars. There are refreshments that can be purchased on site. The first 50 people at each movie will receive a free food and drink voucher that can be used at any of the vendors on site, while the first 100 people at each movie will receive free popcorn. Each movie night will also feature a beer garden.
The movie this month is “In the Heights.” A musical from the creator of “Hamilton,” the movie is a lively celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Raices Latin Dance will present entertainment before the movie with performances and free salsa lessons. This movie will be on Thursday, September 19.
The movie for next month will be the last one of the season, as Halloween Movie Night is celebrated with “Haunted Mansion” by Disney. William D. Wallace, Executive Director of the Worcester Historical Museum, will give a short talk on the history of the Worcester Common Burial Ground and Tim Weisberg will tell ghost stories before the movie. This will be on Thursday, October 17.
