Flights out of Worcester Airport will be resuming from JetBlue over the summer.
Flights will run between Worcester Regional Airport and JFK International Airport in New York. There will be one direct flight a day starting Thursday August 19 until October at which point there be two flights a day. Beginning in October, JetBlue will be resuming its daily non-stop service to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Airlines such as this one often use flyer printing services to offer more details about their flights, schedules, and prices.
President and COO of JetBlue, Joanna Geraghty, said that JetBlue is now operating once again out of Worcester. However, Geraghty is looking into its flights to Orlando and the resuming of additional flights as businesses and leisure travel start up again. She said that JetBlue’s network relies on small airports which have become even more important as people move outside of larger metropolitan areas.
In 2013, JetBlue began flying out of Worcester and offered flights to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. The trip to New York was added in 2017.
Geraghty is an alumna of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester and was given a key to the city by Mayor Joseph Petty in 2013. Geraghty said that in addition to Worcester Regional Airport marking its 75th anniversary this is another good reason for resuming flights.
