Captain Kirk beaming to Worcester
William Shatner, the actor who created one of the most iconic characters ever to appear on television, Star Trek’s Captain James T. Kirk, will be appearing in Worcester soon.
He will attend a screening of ‘Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan’, at The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts, after which there will be a Q&A session, and a conversation with audience members.
‘The Wrath of Khan’, which was released in 1982, stars Shatner and the rest of the cast of the original series. They face Khan Noonien Singh, played by Ricardo Montalban, who reprised the role he originated in 1967, in the episode ‘Space Seed’.
The original Star Trek first premiered on NBC in 1966, and ran for three seasons. Fan interest in the show was so strong that the original series went on to inspire an animated series and five live-action series: Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Enterprise, and Star Trek: Discovery. To date, there have also been thirteen feature films, seven of which featured Shatner as Captain Kirk.
Shatner will appear on April 3, 2018, at 7:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now.
Occasions like this are an opportunity for organizers to work with a poster printing company to create special posters to offer for sale.
