Breweries to join forces in Worcester

Jack’s Abby, a brewery based in Framingham, has plans to purchase Wormtown Brewery in Worcester.

This will create a single new brewery that will be one of the country’s top 10 family-owned breweries in size. It will be the third largest in Massachusetts, close behind Mass Bay Brewing Company, which is the second largest brewer in the state and is the maker of Harpoon. The name of the new entity will be Hendler Family Brewing Company and it will produce about 110,000 barrels of beer a year.

Such establishments often turn to local Print shops to help spread the news about purchases and their benefits for a community, with Flyers and other printed materials likely to be useful.

Sam Hendler, CEO, said Be Hoppy IPA will be the headlined brew at Wormtown. This is a stalwart brand in Massachusetts, and Hendler expressed his excitement about securing the legacy of its products and craft. Sam will own the new brewery with his brothers and co-founders, Jack and Eric.

Wormtown first operated Peppercorn's along Park Avenue when it was founded in 2010 and has since expanded its taproom on Shrewsbury Street. Jack’s Abby opened about a year later. Recent milestones for the breweries have included Jack's Abby becoming the official brewer of the Boston Celtics, and Wormtown opening its taproom at Gillette Stadium.
