Art and balloons to feature in Worcester exhibit

An exhibit of art throughout downtown Worcester will be opening this month, and is intended to lead visitors through the area.

“Balloons and Bad Advice,” a multi-gallery installation series, is a collaborative effort between Balookski, an artist based in Los Angeles, and Hank von Hellion from Massachusetts. The goal of the exhibit is to encourage people to explore the diverse downtown of Worcester and connect disparate neighborhoods through the shared experience of art specific to a site.

The Creative Hub gallery at the Aurora and the Worcester PopUp at the Jean McDonough Arts Center will be the home for the main exhibit, with additional smaller exhibits at ArtReach Worcester, C.C. Lowell Art Supply Co., another storefront in downtown Worcester, and other locations to be determined. Such locations often turn to banner printing to promote any special exhibits being held.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of any artwork during the exhibit will go towards a free creative workshop led by von Hellon and Baloonski.

The exhibit will be on display from Saturday, November 13 through Saturday, November 27. There will be an opening reception for the exhibit on November 13 at 5:00 pm. at the PopUp and the Aurora with conversation and drinks, balloon installations, interactive sculptural work, resin works, an art crawl, and two live DJs.
