Mayor Tom Koch said:
“…maritime history is woven into the fabric of our City.”
He added that these events will enable residents and visitors to celebrate the heritage of America 250 and bring the community together to recognize Quincy’s legacy and future.
The Quincy Maritime Festival is a family-friendly and free event that highlights the deep connection the city has with coastal traditions, shipbuilding, and the sea. There will be historic reenactments, live entertainment, parades for children, waterfront attractions, and maritime activities held along the Marina Bay Boardwalk. This event runs from Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5.
The Oosterschelde, an historic Dutch tall ship, will be hosted at Safe Harbor Bay as part of the America 250 commemorations. The Quincy Police Marine Unit will escort the ship with a ceremonial arrival on Thursday, July 16. The public will be able to tour the deck and experience one of the last authentic tall ships of its kind still in operation. These tours will be July 17, 18, and 19.
Such celebratory events can be promoted throughout a city and through other avenues to attract visitors using flyer printing and other printing services.
