A record amount of $236,000 in scholarships has been awarded by the Quincy College Foundation to over 100 students this fall.
This amount exceeded the goal the Foundation set when it began its fundraising earlier this year. News of such awards can be made known throughout a community with flyer printing courtesy of local Print shops.
The Quincy College Foundation was established to receive charitable donations, gifts, and endowment funds to support the college and its mission to provide an accessible and affordable post-secondary education to students. The Foundation looks to build a network of support in the community and promote the college’s role as a contributor to the economic vibrancy of the region, and a vital resource.
Chair of the Quincy College Foundation, Paul Barbadoro, said that scholarships are important for many of the students at the college. He expressed his gratitude to the increasing number of businesses and individuals whose support makes these scholarships possible. He added that recognizing and honoring these deserving students for their academic achievements, while also lightening the burden of tuition, is in keeping with ensuring that students of the college get the chance to pursue their goal of a college education.
Richard DeCristofaro, president of Quincy College, said that awarding these scholarships is one of the most important events of the academic year.
