Quincy to host dance party
A 70s, 80s and 90s Dance Party will be hosted by the city of Quincy later this month as part of its Quincy400 celebrations.
This event is free and will be outdoors. Its intent is to transport attendees back in time with tunes that are unforgettable and a party atmosphere in the heart of Quincy. Attendees are encouraged to wear their retro attire and dancing shoes and join in the community fun and musical nostalgia.
Local print shops can help spread the word about such unique events with posters, flyers, and other printed material.
Beginning at 2:00 p.m. there will be the Side Cars Band with a tribute to The Cars, playing the iconic songs from one of the most beloved rock bands from Boston. From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. the music of the 80s will come alive with a performance by Joyride Step.
From 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., the legendary Grammy Award-winning disco and rhythm and blues group from New Bedford, Tavares, will showcase their timeless classics. Tavares has been recognized internationally for their contribution in 1977 to the soundtrack of Saturday Night Fever and will have everyone dancing to hits including “It Only Takes a Minute” and “More Than a Woman.”
A Hive beverage truck and other food trucks will be available for the purchase of food and drink throughout the event.
This Dance Party will take place on the Hancock-Adams Common from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday August 16.
