Quincy to host open house to celebrate city

The first annual Quincy Open Heritage Day will be held later this month as part of Quincy400, a celebration lasting the entire year of the culture, community, and history of the city of Quincy.

This day will feature over 30 programs, tours, and experiences at 14 different locations across the city, all of which are free of charge.

The USS Salem, Church of the Presidents, Quincy Quarry, Josiah Quincy House, and Adams National Historical Park are among some of the sites participating in this event. There will be “Heritage Hubs,” such as Adams Academy, 34 Codding Street, the Coddington Building, and the National Parks Visitors Center that will provide free transportation to the special programs and historic sites.

Such unique events often rely on brochure printing to provide more details about activities, places to visit, and other experiences.

Mayor Thomas Koch said that on this day, the doors will be open to the incredible history across the city. He added that it will be a day for residents, visitors, and families to explore the historic landmarks and experience the pride that so many people have in the legacy of the city.

Sponsors of this event include Quincy Mutual Group, Commonwealth Insurance Partners, and Troutman Pepper Locke.

Quincy Open Heritage Day will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday September 27.
