A private Islamic school based in Waltham, Ar-Raheem Academy, has purchased the former Frye estate in Marlborough.
The property is located on Pleasant Street and once belonged to the Frye family. The property has a large building that covers 30,000 square feet, a signature building that spans 5,828 square feet, and a carriage house at a size of 1,838 square feet. The large building was was most recently used by the Sisters of St. Chretienne as a rest home. The signature building was the home for the Frye family and was built in 1920.
The seller of the property, Kim Rickman, owner of OWN IT by Rickman Realty, said that the main building will be used by Ar-Raheem Academy as a school space, and it will be renovating it to be able to accommodate a school. It will have 50 classrooms, three kitchens, and 21 parking spaces as well as a library, residential space, and both indoor and outdoor play areas. Brochure printing is often used to provide more details about such planned features of a school.
Ar-Raheem Academy is a private school that offers a curriculum of both Islamic teachings and general education. There are currently 50 students attending the school and it needed space for its expected 100 students and 50 teachers within five years.
