Jeffrey Gogan is the new fire chief of the Marlborough Fire Department.
Such new appointments often call for business card printing services.
Gogan is a native of Marlborough, graduating from Marlborough High School in 1989. He graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighters Academy in 1998 after a tour of duty in the Navy.
In 1996 he started in fire services as a dispatcher and later became a firefighter in Sudbury. He moved to the Marlborough Fire Department in 2001. Since then, he has held every rank in the department up to assistant chief. He has been the head of operations for the past nine years. He said that holding every administrative and operational rank in the department has given him the opportunity to learn every aspect and role in the department and how everything is run.
Mayor J. Christian Dumais said that Gogan brings over 220 years of experience, a proven record of leadership, and a deep understanding of the city that will strengthen the safety of the public for both visitors and residents.
Gogan said that his main goal is to build a new fire station on the west side of city, a project which has been discussed for many years and is needed to meet national standards for response times. He also plans to improve succession planning and officer training and to have a new assistant chief by July.
