Lake Williams in Marlborough now offers a way for people to see the city from a new perspective.
A new floating boardwalk is 3,000 feet long and completes the Lake Williams Trail. It covers the southern part of the lake and connects the woodland trail near the ramps for Interstate 495, creating a loop of two miles.
More information about such new features and their benefits for a community can be made known with flyer printing.
Christian Dumais, mayor of Marlborough, said that the boardwalk was built by the city for $1.7m using money from the federal pandemic stimulus package. He added that it now enables people to explore a part of the lake that previously was not accessible, as the lake had been the source of the drinking water for the city.
The new boardwalk can be accessed by people of all abilities and ages. It has become a tourist destination for walking groups traveling to Marlborough. Many residents of the city are also excited about it, as it is a new experience for the community that, according to one walker who spoke to WBZ News, seems to be bringing them together.
The boardwalk from dawn to dusk all week long, and does not allow bicycles or pets to walk on it. Fishing from it is also not allowed.
