Sugar Heaven Bakery, owned and operated by Fernanda Rocha and Isabella Brito, is now open in Marlborough.
Rocha and Brito, who are roommates, began their partnership in 2018 baking birthday and wedding cakes. They built a following on social media and decided late last year to build on the growing interest in their business by opening a neighborhood bakery. They found a storefront on Mechanic Street and started renovating the property.
Brito said that there many things they liked about Marlborough, including the neighborhood and the feeling of family. Both are hoping that they become viewed as a welcoming and family bakery where people can feel at home.
Their offerings include cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and many other small sweet treats, such as cannoli, cones filled with coconut, and the Brazillian desert of Brigadeiro. The most popular item on their menu is cake, which can be ordered for special occasions in advance. Brito said that many items on their menu have a Brazilian twist. Beverages at the bakery include acai berry and cappuccino lattes. Flyer printing can be used to advertise and promote such new additions to the businesses opened in the community.
Items are available for pickup and deliveries are made several times a week. The store is open Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
