New chicken finger eatery to come to Marlborough

The second location of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will be coming to Marlborough soon.

The restaurant will be on Boston Post Road. Construction is being completed, with work on the interior now underway and more signage being added. There will be 72 seats for indoor dining and about 12 seats outdoors.

The restaurant says 12 people will be employed at the restaurant, so locals with experience in catering might want to get their Business Cards and résumés up to date.

The first Raising Cane’s location open in 2009 on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. Raising Cane’s is a chain of fast food that specializes in chicken fingers, to the extent that they can be found on every item on the menu. The menu includes different combination platters that feature chicken fingers and several options for side dishes including coleslaw, Texas toast, and crinkle-cut fries. The signature Cane’s dipping sauce accompanies all meals.

Raising Cane’s was founded by Todd Graves, who opened the first location on August 28, 1996 at the North Gates of Louisiana State University—Baton Rouge. Graves always had a dream of opening an amazing restaurant for chicken fingers. The name of the eatery is derived from that of his yellow Labrador retriever.

The chain currently has about 600 restaurants, although currently there are none any closer to Boston than Pennsylvania.
