A motorcycle ride that has been on hiatus for four years will be returning to Marlborough later this month.
The Shawna Jean Larassa (SJL) Memorial Ride will be supporting a scholarship established by Marlborough native George Larassa in 2009, named after his daughter. The ride took place every year from 2010 to 2016. During the past four years, Larassa took some time for personal reflection.
The SJL Ride has a different route each year. This year, the Marlborough Moose Family Center 1129 will be the starting and ending point. The route will travel through such towns as Hudson, Lancaster, Lunenburg, and Clinton, returning to a few along the way. The ride is 55 miles and is expected to take about an hour and 45 minutes. Signage promoting such events is often created by local printing services.
There will be activities after the ride at the Marlborough Moose to which supporters can join the passengers and motorcyclists. Lunch will be served that will include hot dogs and hamburgers, as well as fruit and vegetable salads. Trombetta’s Farm will be on hand with an ice-crem truck. Musical entertainment will be provided by the band Flashback. There will also be raffle prizes to include a motorized bicycle, a Bose sound system, and game tickets.
The ride will take place on Saturday, August 14.
