Marlborough school starts construction on athletic complex

The ground has been broken on a new athletic field and complex at the New England Innovation Academy in Marlborough.

The complex will have a full-sized high school field that will open before the complete complex a year later. The complex will have high performance training areas, versatile courts, and modern fields. Officials at the school are hoping that the complex will become a hub of school spirit, teamwork, and energy.

The interim head of school, Ben Farrell, said that as there are varied interests and passions among the students, the goal of the school is to provide them with the tools they need to pursue these. He said that this can be from the school’s makerspace with the latest technology, the state-of-the-art recording studio, or with a cutting-edge athletic complex.

Farrell expressed his gratitude for the support of the students, their parents and guardians, the community of Marlborough, and the board as the school continues to develop new offerings.

The mission of the New England Innovation Academy is to enable the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators to reach their potential and create a better world.

The high school field is expected to open next fall while the complex will open in 2026.
