A Thanksgiving Food Drive is being held by Thrive Support and Advocacy in Marlborough, starting this month.
The organization is a non-profit supporting both adults and youth with developmental disabilities. The Food Drive is designed to assist those families in the community who need additional care during this holiday season.
The Food Drive will provide Thanksgiving Boxes with all the ingredients needed for the meal for the holiday. Those who wish to contribute can sign up to donate food items. Monetary donations will also be accepted which will be used to purchase food items. Once the collection is completed, the items will be boxed and delivered throughout the community. Flyer printing can be used to offer suggestions on items to donate for such drives.
The headquarters of Thrive will be opened from Monday, November 16 through Thursday, November 19 for the drop-off of food items.
Thrive is also holding an After-School Community for those between the ages of 7 and 25. Group 1 consists of those between 7 and 12 years of age, and Group 2 is for those between 13 and 25. Group 1 meets Monday and Tuesday while Group 2 meets Thursday and Friday, with both groups meeting between 2:30 and 5:00 p.m.
Among the activities groups can participate are arts and crafts, cooking, computer technology, and exercise games. These activities will run until Friday, December 18.
