The Marlborough Works! Job Fair, hosted by the Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) at the Courtyard by Marriott-Marlborough Ballroom, is to feature some of the largest employers in the area.
Employers at the event will include newcomers like Quest Diagnostics, RXi Pharmaceuticals, GE Healthcare, and SanDisk. Returning employers will include Boston Scientific, Marlborough Hospital, Ken’s Foods, and Weetabix.
Dozens of other companies from a variety of industries, such as healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, biotech, retail, marketing, and alternative energy will be at the event to showcase themselves.
In the run-up to the fair, MEDC has set up two seminars to assist local jobseekers in creating high-quality résumés both on paper and online. The first of them was held on September 23, and a second is coming up on September 30 at the Embassy Suites, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. The upcoming seminar will focus on tailoring a résumé to the online employment networking site LinkedIn. Both events will be free to the public. Only Marlborough residents may attend, and there are only 30 spots for each seminar. Registration can be completed online.
Both jobseekers and companies attending a job fair may choose to update their business card printing before an event, so that they have a highly polished digital business card available to give to anyone who needs their contact information. The fair is scheduled for October 7.
