The 8th annual MetroWest Festival of Trees is coming to Marlborough for three days next month. Expected to attract over 5,000 people, the event is a presentation of the Marlborough Historical Society.
The main attraction of the festival will be more than 125 decorated trees and wreaths, and there is still room for more decorators who must supply all of the necessary materials other than the tree. Each tree will have a holiday theme and they will be raffled off at the end of the event.
In addition to the trees and wreaths, there will be more than 60 artists and crafters who will be selling things such as decorations, paintings, clothing, and other unique, handmade items.
There are also set to be animated figures on display, a gingerbread competition for cash prizes and ribbons and the chance to visit with Santa Claus in his workshop. Children can have fun in Playland with a carousel, other rides, and games. They can also visit Dickens Village, Candyland, Gingerbread Village, and a Winter Victorian Village featuring a train display.
Organizers of the festival may have local banner printing companies provide prize ribbons.
The MetroWest Festival of Trees will be held at the Royal Plaza Trade Center from December 11 to 13. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and children between the ages of 5 and 12. Call 508-579-0658 for more information.
