The Abstract Exhibit 2016 is taking place in Marlborough beginning next month.
Submissions will be accepted for this juried exhibition from December 28 until January 7. The show is open to both new and established artists and each artist can submit up to three works, with entrance fees being $15 for one, $20 for two, and $30 for three. All of the works must have been completed in the past year and the art must be offered up for sale, and the artist will receive 60% of the sale price.
Artists will be competing for cash prizes, with first place winning $75, second place getting $50, and third place receiving $25. There is also a People's Choice award; those who vote will be entered into a raffle to win a $25 gift certificate and the winning artist will get $50. Another award is the Facebook Fan Page Prize of $25.
The opening reception will take place on January 14 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Guests will view the art and meet the artists while they enjoy wine and cheese.
