Festival spreads festive cheer

Locals can get in some holiday shopping and immerse themselves in the Christmas spirit, as the 2015 'MetroWest Festival of Trees' comes to Marlborough.

The event will have more than 100 decorated trees, an ‘aisle of wreaths’, and centerpieces.

Guests can enjoy various themed villages, check out Santa’s workshop, or visit Candyland. Kids can have fun at the North Pole Playland, where there will be rides, games, and face painting. Other highlights include live entertainment, the miniature Victorian village and train display, and an appearance from Santa.

A variety of arts and crafts and food vendors will be on site. Vendor spots cost $150 and applications are available to download on the 'Festival of Trees' website.

Tickets cost $8 for adults, or $5 for children between the ages of 5 and 12, along with seniors aged 62 and over. Kids under 5 are free.

With thousands of people expected to attend, it is likely printing companies have been busy creating promotional materials such as Flyers and Postcards to distribute to Marlborough residents.

The festival will be held on December 11 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, December 12 from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm, and December 13 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.

It all takes place at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel and Trade Center, located on 181 West Boston Post Road. For more information, call Bob Kane at 508-579-0658.
