State park in Fall River to host several events
Some special events and many other regular activities will take place at Heritage State Park in Fall River this month.
The Fall River Waterfront Cultural District and its partners in the community will be presenting the Mass Memories Show. This is a statewide event that focuses on places, people, and events in the history of the state using stories and photographs from families. This month’s event is on Fall River and its people. Members of the community are invited to share their family memories and photographs. This will be at the Visitor Center from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 16.
There will be guided tours of the park grounds to view the Quequechan and Taunton Rivers, the granite cliffs, and the many waterfalls on Saturdays and Sundays during the month. These tours start at the front desk of the Visitor Center at 11:00 am.
Two films will be screened every day. The first one is “Lincoln Park Remembered” which has vintage footage and clips from as early as 1920. The second film is “The Fabric of Fall River” which explores the rich past of the city from its first inhabitants through the era of the cotton mill to the clothing manufacturing of the 1980s. The first film is at 10:00 am, while the second one is screened at 11:45 am and 1:45 pm.
Such activities and events are often promoted throughout the community with poster printing.
