New apartment project to come to Fall River

A development of 346 units is being proposed on two acres of land on Weaver Street near the Fall River waterfront. Local and state veterans’ agencies are looking to provide military veterans with housing as part of this project.

More information about such projects is often outlined with flyer printing.

The developers of this project are Abbott and Farnham LLC of Rye, New Hampshire. Brian McCaffrey, one of the principals in the firm, said they are seeking a solution for the project that will address constituents’ and stakeholders’ needs, as well as what the city and the people who live in it want.

The developers are seeking several variances and a special permit for the project. They are requesting to demolish the building at 100 Weaver Street; waive the setbacks for the front, rear, and side of the property; allow 14 stories as opposed to six; and reduce the number of required parking spaces.

The project is expected to cost close to $50m and will provide market rate and affordable housing. It is close to the South Coast Rail station, which has a planned opening of next year during the fall. McCaffrey says the location of this property being so close to the new commuter rail station will capture the anticipated demand in rental apartments in the area.
