Forum on dementia to be held in Fall River

Dementia Friendly Fall River and the Community Partnership of the Southeastern Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Association will be holding a public forum next month.

The Alzheimer’s Association hosts these community forums in neighborhoods and communities across the country. Those who are interested in learning about dementia, memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease are welcome to attend and encouraged to bring a member of the family who is suffering from any one of these afflictions.

The purpose of such forums is to listen to each other about individual experiences with dementia and Alzheimer’s, identify their needs and the gaps in available opportunities and resources, and increase awareness of the caregiver services and programs of the Association. Another purpose of these forums is to mobilize communities in the fight against Alzheimer's disease, assisted by volunteers and staff members of the Association.

Those involved in such organizations often turn to poster printing services to promote their activities and awareness of their causes throughout a community.

The Massachusetts chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association was formed in 1999 and provides services to families and professionals living and working in New Hampshire as well.

Registration for the forum is requested as light refreshments will be served. The forum will be held at Bristol Elder Services in Fall River from 1:00 until 3:00 pm on Friday, April 3.
