United States Representatives Joseph Kennedy III and Bill Keating recently announced that a federal grant of $94,386 will be awarded to Fall River for the purchase of new public safety equipment.
Additions will include a new command center vehicle, equipment for the command center, and a new cruiser.
Keating said in prepared remarks that the many responsibilities local law enforcement personnel assume every day, as well as the work they do to keep communities safe, should be recognized. He added that this money, in the form of the 2014 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant, will help the Police Department of Fall River to provide these services to the community with the ability to purchase new equipment.
Kennedy commented that the funds will enable law enforcement officials throughout Bristol County to coordinate their efforts to keep communities such as New Bedford, Taunton, and Fall River to reduce crime and protect public safety.
Mayor Will Flanagan added that it was an honor that the city was selected to be a recipient for the grant and shows that the community’s delegation to the federal government continues to make every effort to support the community and those who strive to keep it safe.
Local printing companies can often benefit indirectly from these grants too, as they provide an opportunity for the printing of Flyers and Banners to announce such awards.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Banners
